FAQ
Q1: What are your primary manufacturing processes?
A: Our core services include:
CNC Laser Cutting: For highly accurate, burr-free cutting of complex shapes.
CNC Punching: Ideal for high-volume production of parts with standard or custom hole patterns.
CNC Bending/Forming: Using state-of-the-art press brakes for precise, consistent angles and bends.
Welding: MIG, TIG, and Spot welding for robust assemblies.
Hardware Insertion: Adding PEM studs, nuts, and other press-in fasteners.
Grinding: Hand-polishing, Shot-blasting.
Surface-Treatment:Deburring & Grinding,Shot-blasting,Vibratory Tumbling,Powder Coating, Anodizing, Plating, Screen Printing & Laser Marking.
Value-Added Services: Deburring, tapping, countersinking, and various finishing operations.
Q2: What file formats do you prefer for quoting and production?
A: We prefer native 3D CAD files (e.g., .STEP, .IGES, .SLDPRT, .IPT) as they contain the most comprehensive data. 2D drawings (.DXF, .DWG) are also acceptable but must include all critical dimensions, tolerances, bend lines, and material specifications. A fully detailed PDF drawing is always a helpful supplement.
Q3: What are your standard tolerance capabilities?
A: While capabilities vary by process and part size, our standard tolerances are:
Laser/Punch Cutting: ± 0.005" (± 0.127 mm)
Bending/Forming: ± 0.5° on bend angles
Hole Sizes & Locations: ± 0.005" (± 0.127 mm)
Tighter tolerances are achievable; please discuss your specific requirements with our engineers.
Q4: What is the minimum flange length I can design for a bend?
A: As a general rule, the minimum flange length should be at least equal to the material thickness plus the inside bend radius. For example, for 0.125" thick material with a 0.030" inside radius, the minimum flange would be ~0.155". Designing flanges shorter than this can be difficult to form accurately. We can advise on specific cases.
Q5: How do I specify hardware and welding?
A: Please call out all hardware (PEM part numbers, thread sizes) and weld requirements (weld type, length, and location) directly on your 2D drawing. For welds, standard AWS symbols are preferred. If you are unsure, our engineering team can make recommendations based on your assembly's function.
Q6: What are your typical lead times?
A: Lead times vary based on project complexity and current shop workload.
Prototypes: 1-2 weeks.
Low to Mid-Volume Production: 2-4 weeks.
High-Volume Production: 4+ weeks (often planned well in advance).
Expedited services may be available for an additional charge. We provide a firm lead time with every quote.
